If you are fascinated by arachnids and reptiles, and would like to get your hands on these creatures whilst learning even more about a wider range of these species, then this project will be ideally suited to you.

Whilst on this program you will work closely and look after a variety of arachnid and reptilian species such as scorpions, Baboon Spiders, Green and Black Mambas, along side vipers and Rock Pythons.

This will hard work but a very fascinating insight into the life patterns and habits of this particular group of animals.

Volunteer Role

Every day will be different, and could include anything from helping to construct, design and clean out enclosures, to helping to carry out studies and vivisections on the animals, to being a guide to tourists visiting the park.

If you take part in this project, you should have a keen interest in reptiles and be willing to play an active part in the daily conservation and rescue of these incredible creatures.

Daily task could also include helping to capture problem creatures from nearby farms and trekking into the bush to take part in research projects on spiders, amphibian and reptiles.   You will finding suitable habitats and assessing if area intended for animal release are appropriate.   You need a streak of enjoying adventure as you’ll be climbing rocks, cave exploration, trekking through stunning scenery and swimming in nearby mountainous streams.

Volunteering on this project will also enable you attend a course in being a reserve ranger, where you will be taught to handle reptiles and snakes safely, along with helping to feed these animals, sometimes in front of a visiting public.
