If you’re looking for an action packed short trip to Australia or a fun week before you begin working your way around Australia, then you should join this program.  You’ll have a memorable seven days in Australia, taking part in a variety of excursions such as sampling wines at local vineyards, crawling around Sydney’s many excellent bars, or learning to surf with a group of fellow travelers.

This Australian Gap program is a great way to see Australia, particularly if you don’t want travel alone.  We let everyone have the details of the other members of the group before they leave, so that you can meet each other at the airport, and spend time getting to know each other on the plane.   You’ll have a whole new set of friends before you even set foot in Australia.

Programme Itinerary - 7 days of fun

You couldn’t wish for a better way to begin in Australia than on pre-planned week packed with activities you can join with your new group of friends.

Day 1: Arrival and Sydney tower welcome meal
Once you’ve rested for a few hours, we’ll introduce you to some of Sydney’s nightlife.  First you’ll dine at the restaurant in the Centerpoint Tower, where you can enjoy a rotating view of Sydney.  Then it will be on for some free drinks at the some of the best backpacker pubs and bars in the city.

Day 2: Free Time
You have the day to yourself to get to know Sydney, go sightseeing and shopping or what ever you want to do.

Day 3: Hunter Valley Wine Trip
Your chance to sample thirty different varieties of wine.   Wine is what Hunter Valley does best. You’ll visit a reptile reserve in the morning.  You’ll see snakes, spiders and crocs, along with the creatures that Australia is famous for: Kangaroos, Wombats and Koalas.

Day 4: Surf Trip (Summer)/ Jet Boating (Winter)

Surfing – Your chance to become an Aussie surf dude!

learn to surf like a pro.  In this three hours lesson you’ll be taught by fully qualified instructors how go catching waves and riding them.  You’ll be taken around Sydney’s incredible North beaches, and have the chance to visit Summer Bay, location of Home & Away.

Jet boating - in the winter months you can enjoy an exciting tour around Sydney Harbour

Day 5: Beach BBQ
This day you have the chance to savor the sun-kissed beaches of Sydney, with a little action either in the form of games on the beach, or sharpening up those surfing skills you learnt the day before.  However you may just want to enjoy the eat-as-much-as-you-can BBQ, washed down by a free beverage.

Day 6: Zoo and Pub Crawl
In the morning you’ll head out via ferry to Taronga Zoo.   In the evening, you’ll squeeze in five of Sydney’s top clubs and bars.  The first drink in each is free and you’ll get a photo and t-shirt to record the experience, just in case you can’t remember it.

Day 7: Sydney Harbour Cruise
As you’re sure to be a little tired after the night before, we give you a gentle, relaxing cruise around Sydney Harbor, so you can see the local sights from another stunning angle.

Programme Location

Once you’ve arrived in Sydney Airport, we’ll transfer you to your hostel and then begins a fun seven-day program. After that you can stay in Sydney or go off exploring the Land of Oz straight away.

Programme Accommodation

You’ll be based for seven nights at the funky Sydney hostel, “Wake Up”, near to Sydney Central Station.   It is an excellent base to explore Sydney, as you’ll be near restaurants, bars and shops.  It also has lots of available facilities, just in case, in the unlikely situation, you can’t find what you want elsewhere in Sydney.
