Aussie - Work and Fun Down Under

This is the combined version of our two Work and Fun programs. You’ll have a very memorable seven days on this Australian gap program, taking part in numerous organized activities that will give you a taste of what’s on offer all over Australia. You’ll also be in the company of travelers with the same goal as you: to have fun in Australia and then work their way around it.

Before you step on Australian soil, you’ll have a whole new set of friends to go touring with. In fact, you’ll probably come back with more friends than it’s possible to keep up with, and find yourself invited to other far flung places all over the world: other gap/career break adventures for the future.

Programme Itinerary

7 days of fun

Day 1: Arrival and Sydney tower welcome meal
After you have caught up on your sleep you'll all be taken for dinner at Sydney’s Centrepoint rotating tower followed by a free drink in a few of Sydney’s most popular backpacker bars.

Day 2: Free Time

Chill out, go shopping, sightseeing, whatever takes your fancy!

Day 3: Hunter Valley Wine Trip

Visit a reptile park to see snakes, crocodiles and other Aussie wildlife such as koalas, kangaroos & wombats, then a wine-tasting trip to Hunter Valley!

Day 4: Surf Trip (Summer)/ Jet Boating (Winter)

Become an Aussie surf dude. Learn to catch waves and ride them all the way to the beach! Plus a trip to Home & Away’s Summer Bay!

In winter you'll take an exhilarating jet boat ride around Sydney Harbour.

Day 5: Beach BBQ

Relax, surf and play beach games whilst a BBQ is prepared for you!

Day 6: Zoo and Pub Crawl

Taronga Zoo trip followed by an evening pub crawl to some of Sydney’s best bars and clubs for a free drink, t-shirt and group photo and each!

Day 7: Sydney Harbour Cruise

A leisurely day after a big night!

The work side of things

As well as all these planned activities, the Work and Fun package includes everything you need to get paid employment in Oz including special access to members-only jobs, along with daily email updates of new jobs and a superannuation and tax refund consultation.

The job centre at our Aussie office runs a comprehensive website with a mass of jobs suitable for the working holiday traveler. You can find jobs on the website and on the notice board in the office.

Programme Location

Once you’ve arrived in Sydney Airport, we’ll transfer you to your hostel. After you’ve had a few hours rest, the fun begins…seven days of it! When the first week is over, you can stay in Sydney or go off exploring the land of Oz straight away.

Programme Accommodation

The funky Sydney hostel, “Wake Up”, is based near to Sydney Central Station. It is an excellent location to explore Sydney, near to some of the best backpacker bars and restaurants. It also has lots of available facilities so you’ll be able to keep in touch with loved ones at home from the moment you arrive.
