This fantastic program guides volunteers on a 12 day trek through the spectacular and mountainous landscape of the Himalayas to the Everest Base Camp. Volunteers then gain a real insight into the lifestyle and culture of the Nepalese by spending a further nine days helping in a local village.

Participation on this project will leave you with an overwhelming sense of achievement as you help the development of the Nepali community and climb a section of one of the most reputed mountain ascents on earth.

The Programme

The trek to Everest Base Camp is both testing and challenging but once you have reached the Camp, you will be rewarded with a great feeling of accomplishment and the most stunning views.

We are often told how our volunteers also feel rewarded when they help the deprived communities of this poor and under-developed country.  Helping in an orphanage in Kathmandu or Chitwan, or offering assistance on a farm, national park or in a school will help to provide much needed aid in the poverty-stricken regions of Nepal.

The program also includes a four day trip comprising two days rafting and two days on a jungle safari.

Location

Your time will be spent in Kathmandu (capital of Nepal), Lukla (the starting point of your Everest trek) and Chitwan.

Accommodation and Meals

Accommodation is included throughout the 35 day program and will vary according to your location from camping to a Guest House. While you work in the community, you will be housed in a tent or with a local host family.

The traditional Nepalese food is basic but delicious and will include rice, lentils and potato curry (Dal-Bhat). Three meals a day are provided throughout your trip.
