This new opportunity to teach English in South Korea provides travelers with the chance to learn all about the culture and lifestyle of the country while earning an excellent salary teaching English to school children. A full orientation briefing, detailed training program and language tuition are all provided before you start.

The South Korea Teaching Programme

Part 1 – Cultural & Language Programme (2 weeks)

You will be met on arrival at the airport and taken to the University where you will stay in a shared dormitory for the duration of the language and cultural program.  The program will include a full orientation briefing and you will learn about Korean crafts including mask dancing, Taekweondo, Doson Sowon, Hanji crafts (hand made paper), pottery as well as traditional weddings, the Confucianism Center, and the Kimchi (traditional food) factory.

There will be plenty of time to relax and to socialize with the rest of the team.

Part 2 – 12 month placement in school

Following the cultural and language program, you are taken to your pre-arranged school and introduced to the staff.  You will work an eight hour day from Monday to Friday and teach English for approximately 22 hours a week.  The remainder of your time is spent on lesson preparation, tutoring Korean co-workers and marking. 

Saturday and Sunday is time to relax and explore your surroundings.

Please note that school placements are organized prior to departure.

Candidate requirements
  • You must have a Bachelor’s degree
  • No experience or certification is necessary. However if you do have a Teacher’s certificate and a TEFL, it’s likely you will earn more money
  • Age restriction of 30 years

Accommodation & Meals

Accommodation, usually a rented house or apartment, is included in the program and will be arranged for you.   

Food and bills are not included in the program, but your income will easily cover these.
