South Africa Wildlife Art Course
If you’re already an artist who wants the opportunity to capture an new exhilarating landscape, or wish to develop your art skills further, this course will enable you to observe a far more exotic wildlife than you might find in your own homeland.
Situated in a privately owned game park, you will be participating in a unique course observing varied species of wildlife. The program aims to introduce you to the incredible creatures that inhabit the bush lands of South Africa, as well as appreciating their stunning beauty.
Horses will feature heavily on this course. Not only will you ride on horse back out to the bush to study other wildlife, but you will drawing extensively from them to as a basis of observing movement in a number of other animals.
Project LocationThe course is based on the west side of the world famous Kruger National Park. Here you will make art studies with the beautiful and peaceful Northern Drakesberg Mountains as your backdrop.
The reserve park is located 12 kilometers from Hoedspruit, a town in the beautiful Limpopo Province.
AccommodationYou’ll be staying in a rustic lodge set in the bush. These are wooden chalets with thatched roofs. Normally there be 2-3 volunteers per room. You’ll have access to showers and toilets near to the rooms. They are all open air structures with running hot water! That means you can take a shower and gaze at the stars under the African skies at the same time! You’ll receive three meals daily.
Art sessions either happen in the African Bush, or you’ll set up your easel on a open decked area with thatched roof.
