Wildlife Conservation Course Kruger
Volunteering in South Africa means that you have various programs to choose from and this one allows you to combine management aspects of a nature reserve/game park with being a ranger. So though this is not so practically based as some South African projects we offer, it does give a very informative and comprehensive foundational course in African wildlife conservation.
The Conservation CourseThe course is separated into three parts: management and essential competence, knowledge of bush and ecology.
This will include learning and acquiring skills in:
- Educational bush walks
- Conservation
- Identification of animals
- Animal behaviour
- Animal habitat
- Navigation
- Survival & First aid
- Game tracking
A comprehensive course that is also fun - you get a lot of experience in putting your skills to the test and meeting new friends on the course.
Project LocationThe wildlife conservation programme is one of our South Africa volunteer projects. It is located in the Greater Kruger Area, North of Johannesburg.
AccommodationOn this programme there is a variety of accommodation to choose from: Rondavels, large caravans, three-bed roomed houses, or sleeping under the stars on a lookout tower listening to the sounds of the African night!
