This program will give you a broad experience of Zimbabwe’s people, culture and wildlife.  You’ll have the opportunity to canoe down the River Zambezi, climb and abseil from Zambabwe’s large granite peaks and also join lions for walks.

If you’re a sports enthusiast looking for an action filled adventure during your gap year then you’ll want to join this program.  It’ll give you excellent memories of Zimbabwe that will stay with you all your life.

Programme Itinerary

Culture and Bush Awareness Course (Days 1 to 7)
This incredible experience aims to raise awareness of issues relating to conservation, while also teaching you how you can adapt to living in the African Bush. This includes learning how to find food and water in the bush, spot and track different wildlife and build your own bush camp! For the week, you will be at one with nature and able to listen to the sounds of wildlife while you sleep under the stars.

Zambezi Canoeing Experience (Days 8 to 14)
You’ll be shooting the Zambezi’s world famous rapids and taking in its stunning scenery during this fantastic week of traveling the river down to the magnificent Victoria Falls.  A renowned center for water adventure sports you’ll have the optional choice to experience the thrill of white water rafting. The Zambezi has the one of best reputations in the world for being a base for this exhilarating sport.

Unique African Experience: Walking with Lions (Days 15 to 21)
During this week, you’ll have the chance to experience a side of Africa the average tourist doesn’t have access to. You’ll be able to accompany prides of lions as they are familiarized with the landscapes they eventually will be released  into, and enjoy fun swims with elephants.

Community Climbing & Abseiling Expedition (Days 22 to 28)
On this part of the trip, you’ll be abseiling down from Zambabwe’s large granite peaks as well as trekking through its rolling landscapes.  At the end of the week you’ll have a sound knowledge of abseiling and be a competent rock climber.

Accommodation and Meals

During the course you will stay in a variety of different accommodation options. This will vary from bush camps, two man dome tents and rustic style lodges.

All meals and soft drinks are provided, with meals prepared on a participatory basis.
